Laponia Activity Week
Arvidsjaur in the beautiful forest area of central Lapland is the venue for this superb break. The Laponia hotel provides excellent hotel facilities and special clothing for the duration of your stay. Various memorable winter activities are included in our package yet we have built in periods of free time so you can either; simply relax, wind down or enjoy some of the many additional experiences available locally

Day 1
Arrival & Transfer to Hotel Laponia

You will be greeted at the airport before making the short road transfer to the delightful Laponia hotel. On arrival (depending on the time of arrival) and after a welcoming drink you will be provided with a thermal suit, hat, mitts and boots. After being shown to your accommodation there may be time to explore before dinner.
Day 2
Arvidsjaur Visit Sami Village

A guided trip to Sami Land; here you will learn of the old fashioned Sami way of life and see the reindeers, maybe try to throw a lasso. The trip is of around four hour's duration and includes a lunch in the special Sami restaurant, lingonberry juice and coffee is included.
Day 3
Meet the Huskies

Now it is time to meet the Huskies, these wonderful four legged friends will take you on an amazing sleigh ride through the stunning snow clad forests of Lapland, experience the true natural beauty of the frozen north.
Day 4
A free day

This is your opportunity to simply relax or to enjoy some of the many exciting optional activities listed below. All of these, along with any equipment hire can be booked at hotel reception
Day 5
Visit the Arctic Circle
Today you will take a road trip to the Arctic Circle taking in the sights of this winter wonderland. Visit the reindeer farm. Coffee and a light lunch are taken along the way. You will each receive a certificate to remind you of this historic day
Day 6
A free day
Once again this is a free day; your opportunity to enjoy some of the many exciting optional activities listed below. All of these, along with any equipment hire can be booked at hotel reception
Day 7
A Snowmobile Safari

Venture deep into the forest wilderness of Lapland, travel over frozen lakes and vast expanses of snow. For around two and a half hours you will take a true voyage of discovery, there are special sledges for the young ones warmth and safety
Day 8
Departure
Depending on your time of departure you may wish to purchase some additional activities or you may prefer to take a swim or one last sauna. After returning your winter clothing you will take lunch, before making preparations for your return flight to the UK

The package price is based on two sharing twin or double-room accommodation with flights from London; Accommodation Options: Various accommodation upgrades are available, including singles, family, mini-suites and deluxe suites with master bedroom and private sauna.
The hotel has a child's play area video and DVD, indoor-pool, saunas, gymnasium and spa.
An additional charge of £30-00 is levied for the use of individual machines and should the snowmobile suffer accidental damage, you, the customer is liable for the first 8000SEK of the cost of repairs, so please drive carefully
Optional activities available locally
Most additional activities can be organised and booked at the hotel reception
These include: Alpine skiing, cross-country, snowboarding, ice-fishing, ice driving with cars, quads and cross-carts, snowshoe walking, additional dog sleigh and snowmobile trips

Occasionally weather conditions may be unsuitable or other circumstances may cause changes to the itinerary. We reserve the right to change the programe if this should be the case
Clothing
Although we provide all guests with high quality extreme weather clothing for the duration of their visit; in the form of hats, boots, suits and mitts. We must point out to all visitors that we strongly recommend that you travel in warm clothing; waterproof footwear and wear hats and gloves. Additional personal clothing should include thermal under garments, wool or thermal socks and additional layers of lightweight clothing such as vests. The temperatures really can be quite extreme and it is much more fun when you are warm!
