At Hemevan, during the summer months the Tarnafjallen mountain area offers superb outdoor activities including cycling, hiking( famous trials to choose from),and fishing to name a few. An opportunity to see Sweden's highest elevated alpine Botanical Garden the "Nature Centre" houses and exhibition of over 400 plants from the surrounding nature reserve. During Winter, an excellent choice of winter activities available including Lappish culture and reindeer trips, see activites for more information.
No set itineray, a wide range of activities and attractions to choose from the surrounding areas.
Lycksele
These range from visiting the Lycksele Zoo, Forestry Museum, Bjorngrottan, (the bear cave) Gammplatsen, Trollbacken and the Ansia Water park.
Additional activities enjoyes in the winter including Dogsleigh, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiles, Horse Riding, Snowshoe Walking and Ice Fishing. Santa and the Arctic Zoo
Hemevan
During the summer months the Tarnafjallen mountain area offers superb opportunities for walking, cycling, canoeing game and sea fishing. With its superb range of alpine flora, hiking, pot holes, glaciers and majestic views this truly is a memorable area to visit.
Famous Hiking trail and the famouse nature reserve
The southern end of the famous Kungsleden (Kings Trail) starts in Hemavan, the trail is suitable for a single days hike, but for the more adventurous a three-four day trip will take you to Ammarnäs. Sweden's highest elevated alpine botanical garden the "Naturum Centre" houses an exhibition of over four hundred plants from the surrounding nature reserve. Here you can watch films, take part in guided tours or attend lectures on geology, flora, fauna and climate. Guides are available up to the middle of August.
During the winter months Hemavan and Tarnaby provide an excellent venue for all manner of winter activities; Alpine, cross-country and helli-skiing along with Boarding, Dog Sleigh, Snowmobile, Arctic Circle, Lappish Culture and Reindeer trips.
All activities and equipment hire can be arranged and booked locally. Simply do as you please!

Extreme winter weather clothing, boots, hats and mitts can be provided £30.00 pp per week We are happy to arrange the full package including your return flights – please contact us ask for a quotation.
Accomodation
We offer various four, six or eight bed self-catering apartments/cabins for rent in the Hemavan and Tarnaby area. Self-catering accommodation suitable for families and groups is available throughout the whole year
Airport Transfers
Our local guide will greet new arrivals at the airport on arrival and also provide the return transfers
Car Hire
For guests who wish to explore the region further we can arrange local car hire at competitive prices.
Insurance
Should you wish to source specialist activity insurance; please visit the Columbus link which can be found at the foot of this page or on the front page of the Arctic Discovery web site, they offer a special online "Arctic Discovery" package which includes cover for the activities we provide Should your snowmobile suffer accidental damage, you, the customer is liable for the first 8000SEK of the cost of repairs, so please drive carefully.

We will take care of the rest – a ground package which includes accommodation, local airport transfers, instruction, skis, ski-poles, ski pass and all meals!
