Freedom and relaxation with a touch of adventure in Lapland; all the magic of the Arctic winter drive your own team of well-trained, friendly Alaskan huskies through the snow-covered forests and untouched nature of Lapland This trip was specially designed for those people who wish to enjoy a dog sleigh adventure without committing to the often arduous schedule of some of the longer trips.
You will travel through a breathtaking winter landscape and encounter fascinating nature along the way During the long clear Arctic night, you might be lucky to see the magical Northern Lights! The colorful display of the Aurora Borealis, this fascinating light show really is a wonderful sight Throughout this trip you will care for your own team, these happy, friendly and hard working dogs take you on a true voyage of discovery

Day 1

Take scheduled flights from LHR via Stockholm Arlanda or Copenhagen to Lycksele in Swedish Lapland.
You will be greeted at the airport by your hosts for the road transfer to Wild Harmony. The accommodation is provided in a comfortable yet traditional old village house.
Your welcome to the farm is followed by refreshments, provision information and of the equipment you will require for the trip. Then it is time to meet the all dogs and your teams of huskies; this is followed by a short introduction to "mushing".
Dinner is taken in your house
Day 2

Breakfast: We prepare the sledges and harness the huskies it is time to begin your special wilderness experience. The dogs will take us through forests and over frozen lakes and rivers. You will see the tracks of the various the wild animals which live in the area, we will probably see moose or reindeer along the way. Lunch is taken in a wind shelter by a frozen lake where we will try some traditional ice-fishing we may even sample the catch.
Early in the evening we arrive at a wilderness camp. First we feed the dogs before we enjoy a special dinner, then we take a Sauna and Hot Tub. If we are lucky we can sit there watching the northern lights. Then sleep in a wood heated log cabin lit by candles
Day 3

First it is breakfast time for the huskies then it is our time to eat. We dismantle the camp and get ready for a fantastic new day of discovery. Once again we take lunch in a wind shelter by a frozen lake and try our luck at some traditional ice-fishing, the ultimate in fresh fish, cooked over an open fire in winter wonderland. We then move off on for the final leg of our journey, early in the evening we arrive at the husky farm, attend to the dogs and then put them to sleep. Now it is time for us all to relax and enjoy a spa at the delightful Hotel Lapland. Dinner will be taken in the hotel restaurant and then you will spend a very comfortable night in a room with a view over Lycksele and Umeå River
Day 4

Breakfast: Depending on the time of your return flight we may have the time to visit the famous local Zoo or do some shopping. Time to say “good bye” and depart for the airport and your return flights

The accommodation as described, return scheduled flights from LHR, local transfers, activities as described, guides, all safety equipment and a team of 4-6 huskies.
Please note
We suggest that children are aged 10 years and over as the weather conditions may sometimes be extreme occasionally weather conditions may be unsuitable or other circumstances may cause changes to the itinerary. We reserve the right to change the programe if this should be the case.
Clothing
Although we provide all guests with high quality extreme weather clothing for the duration of their visit; in the form of hats, boots, suits and mitts. We must point out to all visitors that we strongly recommend that you travel in warm clothing; waterproof footwear and wear hats and gloves. Additional personal clothing should include thermal under garments, wool or thermal socks and additional layers of lightweight clothing such as vests. The temperatures really can be quite extreme and it is much more fun when you are warm!
