Village Santa
The peaceful village location of Askilje provides you with an extremely safe environment in which to stay and play, even after enjoying the evening meal in our timber tepee restaurant parents can sit and relax whilst the children play safely outside. This package was specifically created for those who long to escape the pressures of their normal lives and simply spend some quality time with the family, a true winter wilderness adventure in a country village where there are no costly commercial distractions. Our program provides you and your family with a genuine arctic winter experience, Santa visit, various activities and family fun for all ages with a warm, personal and friendly touch from your hosts and guides. Day 1 : Flights to Lapland
Fly from the UK via Stockholm Arlanda to the heart of Lapland. Our guide will collect you at the local airport for the road transfer* you will be taken to our own magical wooden tepee restaurant which is set amongst the trees by the frozen river for your evening meal. Once everyone has eaten our guide will relax with you and explain the itinerary and activities for day two of your stay. You will then be taken to your chosen accommodation where our guide will provide you with special winter clothing
Day 2 - Wilderness Farm - Activity Day
Make your way to the restaurant for breakfast; your guide will join you before taking you by road to the peaceful village of Tuvträsk where you enjoy a day of fun winter activities and lunch, meet Pasi and the amazing huskies in their winter home, make friends with them and take a ride on the frozen countryside trails. Sara will introduce you to her horses before taking you on a horse drawn sleigh ride through the winter wilderness. Keep warm and enjoy your lunch beside an open fire in the traditional restroom. Pasi will also offer guests the opportunity to join him on a short snowmobile ride, try the cross country skis and other snow toys – lot’s to do so please enjoy your day! You will then return to Askilje for some welcome rest, relaxation and dinner. Pack your cases as you will be leaving Askilje in the morning
Day 3: Santa and the Zoo
Breakfast is taken in the restaurant; after returning to accommodation your guide will collect you and your luggage and take to the superb arctic zoo in Lycksele where you will see many of the wonderful animals who live in the far north, including reindeer, moose and lynx. This wonderful setting is also the home of Santa, as a family you can enter his special house, children can give him their wish list during the visit, afterwards children can move next door to listen to some short stories or play in the craft room, during your visit lunch is provided in the restaurant, there is even a very pretty gift shop for you to visit
Sadly it is time to return home, you will be given the opportunity to change your clothes before your guide drives you to the local airport for your return flights via Stockholm Arlanda and onward
Accommodation
We offer a number of accommodation options: Family Apartments (maximum 5 persons) Traditional Swedish cottages (maximum 4 persons) Family Rooms (maximum 3 persons) Double/Twin Rooms due to limited accommodation options the maximum group size would not exceed twenty six persons Guests are requested to wear warm clothing and waterproof footwear, hats and gloves for travel, external winter clothing is provided however please bring thermal undergarments and quality socks. We reserve the right to change the order of the program should weather or other local issues dictate, local Gunnarn airport transfers are included in the price displayed. An additional single group fee of £50 is charged for Lycksele arrivals. Please note alcohol is not included in the package price but can be purchased in the restaurant. The trip is recommended for children four years and over
The package price is based on a minimum of two persons sharing twin, double-room, cottage or apartment accommodation and includes return flights from London
Please note
occasionally the weather conditions may be unsuitable or other circumstances may cause changes to the itinerary. We reserve the right to change the program if this should be the case. We do provide various snow toys such as snowshoes, sledges and snow toys, these are provided free of charge during your stay in Askilje
Clothing
Although we provide all guests with high quality external extreme weather clothing for the duration of their visit we do strongly recommend that you travel in warm clothing; waterproof footwear and wear hats and gloves. Additional personal clothing should include thermal under garments, wool or thermal socks and additional layers of lightweight clothing such as vests. The temperatures really can be quite extreme and it is much more fun when you are warm!

Flights
The package is displayed including return flights from London Heathrow Flights may also be available from the following regional airports: Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh & Dublin: A supplement of £45.00 per person will be charged. Due to the recent changes in tour operator flight pricing policy: in-flight meals are no longer included on the international flights
