The snows have gone, nature awakens and the countryside blossoms turning into a wonderful, green and pleasant land. The long hours of daylight and the pleasant temperatures in the land of the midnight sun make Swedish Lapland the perfect place for your spring or summer holiday
We can arrange a hire car for you and being situated close to the main road and almost centrally between the Baltic coast and Norway the village of Askilje lends itself perfectly to this type of break, freedom to explore and drive on the quiet uncrowded roads whilst providing you with a quiet scenic base from which to visit the towns, villages and the various interests and activities, shops, museums, arctic zoo etc. The area offers wonderful bird watching opportunities
Beautiful scenic countryside, nature, peace and wide open spaces, all with the unique Swedish right to roam policy. The uncrowded wide open spaces of Lapland are perfect if you enjoy painting, rambling, fishing, cycling, canoeing, walking and nature in stunning peaceful surroundings. This is a tranquil area where you can relax and sample a simple and traditional way of life without all of the costly distractions of modern living
We now offer clients the opportunity to rent a room, family apartment or a traditional Swedish country cottage set amongst the trees and close to the waters edge in the delta where the two rivers meet, these traditional old properties are comfortable, well equipped for self catering breaks and are ideal groups of friends or families who long to experience true nature, rural living and the way things used to be. You can sit on the veranda and let the world go by, enjoy a barbeque, explore the forests, swim in unpolluted waters and look for the wildlife and birds. There is a well stocked shop within the village for your daily needs and the local campsite has a cafe, tennis court and offers boat, kayak, fishing tackle and cycle hire. The camps resident guide can arrange various exciting country activities, provide advice, airport transfers, you can hire him for various guided activities, sightseeing trips and road transfers to local towns and areas of interest.
Local buses pass close by on the main E12 every two hours, running a return service from Umea on the Baltic coast as far as Mo I Rana in Norway and calling at all major towns such as Storuman and Lycksele. There are many pleasant activities available in Lycksele including the zoo, shops, water-park and interesting museums
Each cottage has electricity, fridge/freezer, shower room and WC and kitchen utensils. A radio, CD and DVD player are also provided, so you can bring along some discs if you wish
Each cottage sleeps up to 4 persons, however one does offer summer house accommodation with bunk beds for two extra – perfect for the adventurous older children
Return airport transfers from Gunnarn are also included in the prices shown
Cottages and village apartments are now available at: £300.00 per week
Return flights; we would be happy to arrange and book your return flights via Stockholm (a small admin fee is charged) or if you prefer you can arrange you own flights, just let us know your flight times and we will collect you from Gunnarn or Lycksele* airports
Local car hire at reasonable rates can also be pre-arranged if required.

For those who like to fish:
Although we have a range of rooms, self catering village apartments and cottages two of the cottages are particularly well located for the coarse angler, just fifty meters from the waters edge and boathouse, naturally coarse fishing is free of charge and is readily available. Fly fishing for trout, grayling and char is available locally on a private lake at a reasonable cost. We are happy to pre-arrange this on your behalf, or you may choose to discuss the various options with the local guide on your arrival, a local family fishing licence costs around four pounds
For the adventures:
Rowing boats and aluminum canoe and bikes are available at low rental rates, we are happy to pre-arrange these on your behalf, or you may choose to discuss the options with the local guide on your arrival Our local guide will meet the guests on their arrival at the local airport and via the local supermarket where you can stock up on a few essentials will transfer you to cottage
