Boden

Boden has all the charm and facilities of a small town where almost everything is close at hand; here you can enjoy many exciting summer and winter activities, sights, local culture and good service. Boden is situated about 110 km below the Arctic Circle. The Björknäs area of the town offers a wide variety of activities and sights is located beautifully at the waterside and yet only a few hundred meters from the town centre; family camping, a heated outdoor pool, a sports ground with, among other things, ice rink, tennis courts and football pitches; you will also find the Överluleå Church and adjoining church cottages, the Old Court House, Boden’s oldest school and the Norrbottensgårdarna, a group of old buildings in typical Norbottten style.
From the beginning of the 20th century Boden has developed into Sweden's largest and most important military town. For a long time Borden’s military fortifications were top secret and closed to the public. Many heard about the Rödbergsfortet (the "Rödberg" Red Mountain Fortress) which was built within a mountain, until recently only a few had actually had a chance to see it from the inside. Now you can visit Rödbergsfortet and see the entire installation. If you are interested in military history you should not miss the Armour museum and the Defence museum

Winter activities include; a wide range of skiing opportunities, both downhill and cross-country, with illuminated ski tracks, and slalom slopes; you can also enjoy horse riding, a snowmobile safari, take part in dog sled riding or have a go at ice fishing. Of course you can also forget all about the cold winter conditions and visit the NordPoolen, a beautiful water park.
Summer activities include; Golf, fishing, horse riding, hunting, trotting, canoeing and lots of exciting adventures such as the Western Farm with its speedy stunt shows. You may simply want to take a stroll in the beautiful environment or go on sight-sightseeing tours
