Day 1

Friday arrival in Arvidsjaur

On arrival at Arvidsjaur Airport, guests will be greeted by a guide and receive a rental car. They will be driven to a test track where guest will safety instructions and learn how to control the car on an ice and snow track. After approximately 1 hour guests will drive the car to the Laponia hotel where they will check-in at the hotel, staying in mini suite or in double room accommodation. After arrival there is time for sauna, relax and swimming pool before dinner.

You will be served a two course buffet dinner at the hotel, the meal includes bread, salad, mineral water or non-alcoholic beer and coffee. Use of sauna and swimming pool is included 

Day 2

Saturday Ice Breaking Experience

Breakfast is served in the restaurant

Guest will then drive with their rental car to Pite Havsbad, a journey of approximately 130 kilometers around 1.5 hours

Prepare yourself for an exciting 2-hour cruise on the Arctic Explorer ice breaker, listen to the sound of the ice breaking and see how the ice floes tumble around in the dark water, hot drink is served during the cruise. If weather and ice conditions permit we will stop and allow you to take a short walk on the ice. Guests will return to Hotel Nordkalotten. Here you may take lunch* before continuing you road journey to Luleå and the Nordkalotten hotel, a journey of approximately 65 kilometers around 50 minutes. Check-in at the hotel, staying in mini suite with private sauna or double room accommodation. You are free to use the sauna and swimming pool before dinner*

Day 3

Sunday Optional Activities

Breakfast is served in the restaurant.

Today guests have the opportunity to take part in some of the exciting winter activities which are available. Should you choose to take part in these activities you will be provided with thermal suit, hats and gloves

Activities available are:*

Dog sledge safari:* This tour goes through the forests and over the frozen sea. After the safari guests will be provided with hot drinks. Duration: approximately 1 hour, with a minimum of 2 persons

Snowmobile safari:* A two-hour snowmobile safari through the forests and over the frozen sea, guests will enjoy a hot beverage during the safari.

Duration: approximately 2 hours with a minimum of 2 persons sharing one machine you can individual machines, a supplement would apply (Driver minimum age 18)

A single course buffet lunch including, salad, bread, non-alcoholic beer/mineral water and coffee will be served at the hotel

After activities guest continue their journey from Nordkalotten to the Storforsen hotel a journey of approximately 90 kilometers around one hour. After checking in to the mini suite or in double room accommodation guests have the chance to discover the beautiful surroundings of the hotel with the possibility of a walk to the falls, relax or shopping of local souvenirs.

You will be served a two-course dinner including bread, salad, mineral water or non-alcoholic beer and coffee. The falls are floodlit in the evening offering guests a stunning view from the restaurant and providing with a really warm romantic atmosphere. Once again use of the sauna and swimming pool is included

 

Day 4

Monday Departure

Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the hotel

Guests will then drive to the airport of Arvidsjaur, a journey of approximately 100 kilometers around one hour and ten minutes. Here you will return your car at the airport reception, prior to taking your return flights

Recommended dress under the over-suits:

1. The base layer, close to body, thin sweater and pant of wool or synthetic fabric which quickly removes moisture from the body and transports it out into the next layer, a thin shirt of wool or similar, never use cotton – it makes you colder.

2. The mid layer: thick polar fleece or wool sweater and pants which breathes and transports the moisture away

Insurance:

The minimum age for driving snowmobiles is 18 years and you have to have a valid driving license. Snowmobiles are insured as required by Swedish law. Liability for damage caused to the snowmobile up to the amount of SEK 8000 per accident is to be paid by the guest

The price includes:

• Small rental car, Renault Megane or similar to be kept from Friday 12.00-Monday 12.00

• Driving school/introduction how to drive on snow & ice conditions upon arrival

• 1 nights accommodation in shared double room at Hotel Laponia

• 1 night accommodation in shared double room at Hotel Nordkalotten.

• 1 nights accommodation in shared double room at Hotel Storforsen

• 3 buffet breakfasts.

• 1 two-course buffet dinner at Hotel Laponia including; Salad, bread & butter, low alcoholic beer or water and coffee.

• 1 two-course dinners at Hotel Storforsen incl. salad, bread and butter, low-alcoholic beer or water and coffee.

• 2 hour icebreaker safari at Pite Havsbad including hot drink

• Sauna, relax and swimming pool at the hotels all day  

Cars can be upgraded if required at additional cost
